These options live under Settings → Retention and acquisition. For workflow-based cancellation and save offers, see Workflows and Cancellation flow. The older Experiences retention poll (below) may still be used depending on your setup.

Freeze renewals

Freeze all renewals pauses subscription operations shop-wide:
  • No renewal charges
  • No draft / renewal orders created
  • Customers cannot edit subscriptions in the Customer Portal
Scheduled renewal jobs keep rescheduling (about every 24 hours) until you turn freeze off. When disabled, renewals resume automatically. Use this for planned outages, catalogue cutovers, or emergency stops — not as a substitute for pausing individual subscriptions.

Dunning flow

Set how long Juo retries failed payments before the subscription moves to failed. The period starts from the first failed billing attempt. Duration is configured in days, weeks, or months. For payment-failure automation with custom retry logic, use a Payment failed workflow with dunning actions.

Renewal time

Choose when renewals run:
  • Renew on the initial purchase time — Each subscription renews at the hour it was originally purchased.
  • Renew all at the same time — All renewals run at a single hour you select (0–23).

Upcoming renewal events

Configure one or more “trigger before renewal” windows (interval + optional label). These drive upcoming-renewal notifications and sync to Klaviyo / Customer.io when those integrations are enabled.

Cancellation poll (legacy retention flow)

If you still use the classic cancellation poll (instead of or alongside Workflows):
  • Customize the message and answer options when a customer clicks Cancel.
  • Attach recovery steps per answer: confirmation, discount, free-text reason, change frequency, delay order, pause, renew now, swap product.
  • Optionally offer a cancel-path discount (size, duration, message).
Performance for this flow appears under Analytics → Retention flow.

Quick actions

Configure how long authenticated quick-action / quick-link tokens remain valid. Prefer short expiries (for example ≤ 30 days) when embedding links in email. See Quick actions and Quick actions for Customer.io.

Subscription intent

When enabled, Juo tags customers who look like potential subscribers (based on repeat purchase patterns). Tagging can take up to 24 hours. Details: Subscription intent detection.

SEPA renewals and chargebacks

If your shop uses SEPA Direct Debit, additional controls appear here for payment timing and chargeback recovery.
